Celebrities Love…the Prada Sidonie Bag

Celebrities Love...the Prada Sidonie Bag

Style darlings have a new bestie around; she’s curvy, chic, and cool — and she goes by the name of ‘Sidonie’. And, she’s lately been spotted on the arms of a number of PYTs.

The Prada ‘Sidonie’ bag is fresh from the Resort 2019 collection, and the purse is a beautiful union of form and function with its harmonious lines, distinct flap closure, and a leather handle that offers a polished mood for any outfit (or occasion).

The sassy red variation was spotted on Rita Ora, warming up her winter street-style look while Hailee Steinfeld went for a head-to-toe Prada look while in Bilbao, Spain for the MTV EMAs; her black bag was a sophisticated finish to her ditzy-floral granny sweater and girly hot-pink chiffon.

Other pretties the likes of Kaia Gerber, Yara Shahidi, and Bella Hadid have also been seen with the ‘Sidonie’ at their side, showing off her off with nonchalant panache — from snakeskin-spiked, urban-cowgirl style to grunge-forward denim.

After all, that versatility is what makes the bag such a beauty.

And, can we just take an extra minute to admire Yara’s two-tone athleisure statement — bag and outfit — each of which perfectly plays off the other.

No wonder the ‘Sidonie’ is the most stylish, new BFF around.

Elle Fanning Loves…Christian Louboutin ‘Une Bott’ Boots

While a camel coat trend has taken hold during this year’s Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, Elle Fanning has taken the opportunity to show her affection for Christian Louboutin ‘Une Bott’ boots whilst there.

And, who could blame her, as the ribbed and quilted, lug-sole footwear is a willing (and practical) accomplice to snowy streets and any wintry mix—or wardrobe.

While the metallic-bronze boots offered some sturdy grounding to the starlet’s long powder-blue coat at ‘The Alienist’ screening, my favourite sighting of them followed when she was at The Hollywood Reporter’s Sundance Studio.

There, the chic edge of the black booties offered the perfect cool-girl finish to the equally edgy leather moto jacket and high-waist velvet trousers.

Sundance Film Festival ‘Camel Coats’ Trend

Coats are one of the hero pieces at the Sundance Film Festival, where the wintry Park City, Utah surrounds provides no shortage of opportunities to wrap up in fabulous outerwear. This year, we’ve been seeing a rush of camel coats at the fest, with each versatile representation taking on a unique personality of its own.

Hari Nef: At the ‘Assassination Nation’ premiere on Sunday (January 21), Hari paired her Gucci Fall 2017 trench with a metallic Gucci cross-body bag for a typically Sundance-informal ‘red-carpet’ look.

Naomi Watts: I love the semi-undone nature of this Mansur Gavriel coat that she flung atop her striped jumper, jeans, and snow boots for a casually sophisticated street-style look.

Emma Roberts: Also wearing her classic ba&sh ‘Pally’ coat in an off-duty look, Emma emboldened it with a touch of quirky spirit in her statement sunglasses, hat, and black lace-up boots.

Celebrities Love…The Vampire’s Wife

If you’re anything like a certain crush of stylish beauties, then you’ve likely also been bewitched by The Vampire’s Wife. The label from Susie Cave—her husband is Nick Cave AKA rock’s one-time Prince of Darkness—has captivated a seemingly endless number of celebrities with its telltale brand of feminine mystique.

Elisabeth Moss wore a more gothic variation of the brand in a shimmery, elegant green ruffle dress, while Sienna Miller played up her ruffles in a more girlish light. Meanwhile, Salma Hayek was seen celebrating Victorian florals in a modern, vintage-inspired gown.

But, it was The Vampire’s Wife pink lamé ‘Cate’ dress that has really but starlets under its spell. The dark and moody romanticism of its floral print has been seen in short and long variations on Sienna Miller, Ruth Negga, and January Jones who have each put their personalized spin on the design.

However, these girls aren’t the only ones showing off the distinct, broody allure of The Vampire’s Wife. Alexa Chung wore the brand in Paris, Dakota Johnson was on ‘The Today Show’ with her TVW look, and Birdy took to the red carpet in a velvet gown at the BFI Luminous Fundraising Gala.

The bohemian tinges of Florence Welch’s style likewise made her a glorious wearer of the brand in Ireland, while Maggie Gyllenhaal carried the TVW torch with a glittery look on Bravo’s ‘Watch What Happens Live.’ At the ‘Baby Driver’ Kuala Lumpur premiere, Lily James was also dressed in the label.

With such a roster thus far, and the rush of fall’s seasonal flair in the air, we can only surmise that there will be plenty more vampy Vampire’s Wife moments to come.

Paris Fashion Week ‘All-Denim’ Trend

Denim—in its many forms—is an eternally classic trend. But, Paris Fashion Week saw a number of darlings take their blues to the next level with head-to-toe looks.

And, what can we say, they certainly have good jeans, with this trio of unique Canadian tuxedos serving as proof.

At the Irving Penn exhibition private viewing, Charlotte Le Bon put her Christian Dior Fall 2017 denim to work for her with a work-wear aesthetic that took on casual-chic proportions.

Speaking of proportions, Bianca Brandolini d’Adda maximized hers at the Valentino Spring 2018 show with her Valentino Resort 2018 two-tone denim outfit. Though it also capitalized on the baggy and distressed trends, the end result was a cool-girl look done right.

When Erika Boldrin hit the streets of Paris, all eyes were on her in this oversized Balenciaga asymmetrical denim jacket that was so artfully askance that it even drew attention away from her vibrant accessories including a Loewe ‘Puzzle’ bag. I love how she partially tucked in the jacket to heighten the effect.

Selena Gomez Loves…Rouje

There is something about the insouciant cool of French style that captivates us—celebrities included. That’s why French label Rouje has quickly gained a popular following despite it only launching in 2016.

One fan is Selena Gomez who has happily embraced the line by French It-girl Jeanne Damas. The label reinterprets iconic Parisian basics like floral dresses, camisoles and miniskirts into effortless clothes that slot easily into a modern wardrobe. In Selena’s case, it is Rouje’s dresses that have enchanted her.

First up, the singer donned an inky Rouje ‘Gabin’ dress. The navy dress was speckled with dainty dots and a white button closure on the side. Oval sunglasses enhanced the vintage feel of the frock while box-fresh white sneakers added a thoroughly modern twist.

Keeping the white shoes, Selena stepped out in a Rouje ‘Matis’ dress. The above-the-knee style had plenty of feminine charm thanks to the white and pale blue print, buttons, and gathered seams along the bust line. She once again made it her own with a mix of hoop earrings, aviator sunglasses and a structured off-white handbag.

Lastly, Selena returned to the Rouje ‘Gabin’ dress, but this time in Bordeaux red. She elevated it for evening with rose gold sandals. In keeping with the effortless feel of the brand, she didn’t over-accessorise, choosing instead to let the silhouette of the dress shine.
